SO much water damage
Pros
- Location was convenient - Pet friendly - The Super was AMAZING! Responsive, friendly, and always excited to say hello. Always brightened my day - Backyard space was nice to have, but full of rats so no one used it ever.
Cons
- Paper thin walls and loud neighbors partying - I wasn't even on the top floor, but several times had my apartment completely flooded by the windows/cracks - If it rained, the stairs going from floors 4 to 5 and 6 to the roof were always soaked. - There was a clear water bulge above my fridge and it was getting bigger. There was a shelf there where I was storing a cardboard box of kitchen stuff and eventually the ceiling touched the box and the box was wet. It looked ready to burst any day. It took me a year and a half to get the landlord to fix it. When he did finally send someone, he'd told the repairman it would only take a couple hours and the poor repairman told me he would need a couple days because once he got into the ceiling, the water damage was so extensive. There was mold in there too. So he finally fixed it, but never came back to paint over it - whatever I was not going back to battle for that. 3 months before I moved out, I noticed once again, water stains on the ceiling in the same spot - so nothing had been actually fixed. - Very uneven floors. I dropped a battery and watched it roll the length of the apartment - Poor light - Honestly it's a miracle this place is still standing it's so dilapidated and literally soggy and the landlord refuses to make repairs.
Old decent building, quiet if you're not facing the street
Pros
On-site super, clean, quiet. Pet friendly.
Cons
Sometimes Amazon package got stolen; saw mice but they disappeared after I sealed the holes; electric bills are pretty high in the winter
Advice to the owners
Better mice control and seal the holes on the ceiling & floor properly.
