Incompetent management and owners

Large affordable apartment (due to reforms to rent stabilization laws)
Cons
It has been at least 15 YEARS since the hallways and stairs have been painted. Owner installed new security system and mailboxes 3 years ago but they were never made functional. They remain untouched.
Advice to the owners
Paint the interior stairways and halls. And sweep and mop the floors. Twice a year is not enough. And figure out the garbage. Twice a week the corner of the courtyard is piled 6 feet high with trash and recycling. This is not rocket science and it is an unsightly health hazard.

Cons
Owners greedy, not responsive, bullying and scaring tenants with even higher rents if they don’t accept 50-60% rent increase (even though the building is rent stabilized and this is against the law). Too many issues in the building (no hot water/boiler dies every couple of months, gas leaks/no gas for a year, heating often not working, roaches, mice) - I’d never go back to live there again!
Advice to the owners
Stop treating people like garbage and take some responsibility! Respect the law!
