Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenants under Moshe Mehlman's management report mixed experiences across buildings. Some appreciate the affordable, rent-stabilized units in good locations, especially near transit, and note improvements where management is responsive and the superintendent attentive. However, significant complaints include slow or inadequate maintenance—especially for leaks, heating, and pest control—along with issues in cleanliness and garbage management. Responsiveness from the owner and management is often seen as delayed or insufficient, with some renters citing bare-minimum services and a lack of proactive attention. Noise levels vary, and neighbor quality is generally average. Overall, management tends to address problems only after tenant complaints escalate.

Slow to make repairs

Pros

Good location, one of the only spots in the location with relatively affordable housing for folks on a budget as several apartments are rent-stabilized

Cons

Slow to make meaningful repairs -- my ceiling leaked multiple times and patched up but the leak wasn't addressed for months and then when it was, it took several weeks to fix and plug the giant hole in the ceiling of my bathroom

Advice to the owners

Stop trying to force rent-stabilized tenants out with inattentive and irregular maintenance

An OK building

Pros

It’s rent controlled, neighbors are decent and close to the multiple subway lines

Cons

Dirty and you will regularly see roaches crawling around. Super and management are slow to respond. Heat is terrible and regularly out.
