Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenants across buildings managed by Athena Vrettos experience mostly friendly neighbors and generally quiet residential areas. While some buildings maintain decent cleanliness and amenities like laundry and parking, many reviews point to persistent issues with heating reliability and pest control, notably rodents and roaches. Maintenance and repairs are often seen as inadequate or slow, with frequent complaints about management's reluctance to invest properly despite rent increases. Garbage management is fair but could improve. Security concerns, such as broken lobby doors, have also been raised. Overall, renters should expect a mix of positive community vibes but prepare for management challenges and inconsistent upkeep.

Needs better maintenance

Pros

Prewar building. Spacious rooms

Cons

Rodents and bugs are rampant and owners do little to nothing to manage it. George and Maria are terrible at management. They love to cut corners and spend as little money as possible to make improvements while rent keeps going up. Also does not stop rent increases for senior citizens.

Advice to the owners

Fire Maria. George needs to stop being so cheap with repairs. And heat does not only need to be on during the day, it also needs to be turned on during the nights when people actually go to sleep.

Good and cheap!

Pros

Low rent, Amazon lockers, 2 elevators, garage parking (waitlist), and the general upkeep of this building make it a good place to live.

Cons

The heat is a “sometime” thing, the hired repair people are not that great at repairs.

Advice to the owners

Pay a little more attention to what the building looks like inside and provide more heat.
