Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant feedback on buildings managed by David Laikin reflects a mixed yet generally positive experience. Pros include responsive management and superintendents who promptly address pest issues and maintenance concerns. Many appreciate good cleanliness, effective garbage management, and well-maintained common areas, especially in rent-stabilized buildings. However, challenges persist with thin walls causing noise disturbances, occasional pest problems, and some infrastructural shortcomings like slow elevators and subpar water pressure. Tenants advise improving soundproofing, enforcing noise regulations, and enhancing pest control efforts. Overall, management is seen as engaged and willing to improve, though some apartments may not suit those sensitive to noise or seeking luxury amenities.

Nice (but low frills) building

Pros

Super is very responsive. Has an Amazon locker in the lobby for packages. Building is a mix of young professionals, families and senior citizens. Great location. Apartments are spacious with lots of closets. Laundry in basement.

Cons

Building has issues with german cockroaches, but they are actively trying to remedy. The exterminator visits often. No dishwashers. No online rent payment. Must send checks.
