Review Summary for David Laikin
Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent tenant reviews highlight the buildings owned by David Laikin to be a mixed bag. While some residents appreciate the well-maintained and pest-controlled environment, others have raised concerns about noise levels and thin walls affecting privacy. Positive aspects include responsive management, regular cleaning, and strategic locations with proximity to amenities like grocery stores and subway stations. However, issues with slow elevators, noise disturbances, and limited storage options have been noted. Improvement suggestions focus on enhancing soundproofing, addressing maintenance concerns promptly, and implementing noise regulations for a more comfortable living experience.

Decent building, but not sound proof
Former Tenant
Pros:
Building upkeep is solid. Regularly cleaned and maintained.
Cons:
You can hear everything from your above neighbors

Great building, great location.
Former Tenant
Pros:
Well maintained building and apartments, rent stabilized units, good options for broadband, nice courtyard in back. Super lives in building, management is very responsive to service requests. Fairly priced laundry in building. Quiet block, close to good grocery stores and subway. I could see myself living here for years.
Cons:
Elevator is slow and breaks frequently. No bike storage or storage room. (But there are plans to add a bike storage shed in the courtyard.)
Advice to owner:
Keep doing what you're doing.

Not for long term living
Former Tenant
Pros:
Lobby, laundry, keypad
Cons:
- super slow elevator
- too many apartments on one floor
- wall sleeve a/c unit you have to purchase
- noise
- water pressure
- carpets in the hallways that stinks during days with high humidity
- no pets
Advice to owner:
Improvement needed not patching

Bypass this building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Laundry in the building
Cons:
Walls are so paper thin, can literally hear all your neighbours (next, above, under your apartment), as they are literally living with you. Sound proof and isolation seems not to be quite there at all. Management will ask you to pay in regard to improve those things!?! Building efficiency is only somewhat around +-50
Advice to owner:
Improve isolation and sound proofing.
Put noise regulations in place according to the city guidelines.
