Good option for longer-term accommodation in NYC without breaking the bank

Pros

Hotel 17 has a unique, old-school NYC charm that’s hard to come by in modern apartment buildings. It’s a little vintage, yes, but in a cozy way that feels very “New York.” Rooms are spacious enough for comfortable living, though they’re on the simpler side. The building is older, so expect some quirks (the occasional creaky floor, some retro decor), but for me, this adds to the charm.

Cons

It’s an older building in a lively area, so there can be some street noise, but it’s not unbearable. If you’re a light sleeper, I’d suggest bringing earplugs. The heating works well in winter, and the windows let in a good amount of light.

Awful experience in our unit and floor

Pros

Amazing amazing doormen and cleaning staff!! Great neighbors

Cons

The heating in the building is not up to date and the board is very rude and not helpful. There are manyyyyyy issues in this building that they just don’t fix and when you report them the super and the building management is SO rude, abrasive and not helpful in the slightest. If you want heat, AC, and to live pest free this building is NOT for you.
