Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant feedback on buildings managed by David Shaoulpour reveals a mixed management performance. Positive notes include some buildings with responsive supers, good garbage management, and affordable rents in decent neighborhoods. However, significant issues prevail: poor heating systems, pest infestations, water damage, and unaddressed maintenance complaints are frequent. Several tenants report unprofessional and slow owner responsiveness, gaslighting, and disputes over security deposits. Noise levels vary but are often problematic, and some common areas show neglect. While some appreciate the community feel, many advise management to improve responsiveness, maintenance quality, and tenant communication to enhance living conditions and trust.

Reviews

Former tenant·8 hours ago

Decent first spot to live in Manhattan

Pros

Was able to get 2 bedroom wall taken down to make a larger 1 bedroom

Cons

Walk up, fire station nearby which made it quite loud

Advice to the owners

Better responsiveness from super, don't turn the heat up so hot that you have to run AC in the winter

Former tenant·9 minutes ago

Renovated without pest control

Pros

Beautiful apartment with tons of sunlight, open kitchen, small bedrooms. I love smaller buildings where the neighbors all know one another and collectively take care of the building. The super is a bit obnoxious but overall, gets work done when necessary.

Cons

When we first moved in, we had a major rodent issue. After many calls to management including 311, the super finally came and removed the appliances from the wall only to find a huge whole behind the dishwasher left by contractors. Once that was filled, the problem was solved. It’s unfortunate that it took months to solve an issue that only required a few days.
