Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenants of SHMARYAHU BAUMGARTEN's buildings note well-maintained, modern properties with clean common areas, good amenities like rooftop lounges and package rooms, and responsive supers who live onsite. However, management's responsiveness can be inconsistent—while some report quick repairs and helpful staff, others experience slow or absent responses, especially concerning safety issues and maintenance delays. Package theft and occasional pest sightings recur as concerns. Security features like buzz-in systems are often inadequate or nonfunctional, contributing to safety and theft problems. Community engagement and communication from management are areas renters feel could be improved to enhance tenants’ living experience.

Recommend The Mill!

Pros

- Super convenient location off Myrtle/Wyckoff - Responsive and kind super who lives in building - Sizable units - Good noise insulation between units and street noise

Cons

- I remember some of my packages that were dropped off at the lobby would sometimes get stolen. It wasn't an issue if it was dropped off in the package room but it depends on the delivery person. - Could have more of a community feel between tenants, but that's not a reflection of management or the building itself

Bittersweet but scary

Pros

I loved how young the building was — I made a lot of friends during my time there and had a lot of fun in our rooftop and lounge with friends. The super Mujo is so nice and helpful — the building is pretty clean.

Cons

I had a stalker that lived on my floor and would follow me up to my apartment very late at night and ring my bell and knock on my door non stop. He would sit in the lounge at night staring until I would come home. Not sure who else he did this to. I called the police on 3 occasions and management did nothing to help me and wouldn’t let me see video camera footage or cooperate. The buzzer downstairs didn’t work so police couldn’t get in. This building is not safe for women.
