Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant feedback for Ira Lifshutz's buildings underscores persistent management challenges. Tenants report issues with heating systems, often faulty or nonexistent during winter, leading to discomfort. Garbage management and cleanliness receive consistently low marks, with pest problems such as rats and roaches frequently mentioned. Security concerns arise, including poorly secured entrances. Owner responsiveness is generally rated poorly, indicating slow or inadequate responses to maintenance and tenant concerns. While locations and apartment spaciousness are appreciated, renters express dissatisfaction with utility costs, illegal rent increases, and unaddressed repairs. Overall, expect difficulties with maintenance and management communication despite favorable building locations.

Good apartment but $1500 utility bills

Pros

Big apartment with lots of soace

Cons

Expect $1500-$2000 utility bills every single month

Advice to the owners

Fix the electrical heating

Lots of space but no heat

Pros

Lots of space

Cons

heat does not work in winter and the supers/ owners don’t care to fix it as they are not financially responsible for it. Single panes windows make it loud and add to the terrible temperature control within the apartment.

Advice to the owners

Pay for heat and monitor apartment temperatures because it’s unbearable in the winter.
