Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant reviews of buildings managed by Ahron Freidus reveal significant management and maintenance concerns. Residents consistently report poor cleanliness and garbage management, with persistent issues of rats, roaches, and unsanitary conditions. Heating and water pressure are generally adequate, but pest control is notably lacking. Tenants describe the building staff, especially the superintendent, as unresponsive and occasionally intimidating, which adds to the dissatisfaction. While the locations are appreciated for convenience and proximity to amenities, safety and security worries due to faulty locks and unwanted intrusions are common. Overall, renters advise urgent improvements in building upkeep, pest control, and management responsiveness to enhance living conditions.

This place sucks

Pros

Great location, rent stabilized, had a lot of natural light

Cons

I lived here for one year, and that was one year too many. The building was a dump. I had leaks coming out of my ceiling in both the kitchen and the bathroom, and they never fixed them. The drywall literally ripped open, and I ended up living with a hole in my ceiling for the entire year. I called the super and the company repeatedly, begging for someone to come fix it, and nobody ever came. We also had a homeless person sleeping in the vestibule on a regular basis because the door to the street never locked. More than once I had to call the police just to get out of my building. The trash area was filthy, just tossed into the courtyard between their two buildings, with rats and all kinds of disgusting activity. It was totally unsanitary.

Great location but at what cost

Pros

Great location! So close to great bars and restaurants on 2nd Ave and a 15 minute walk to Central Park.

Cons

Garbage is not well maintained rats are constantly in the bins. Roaches often found in the halls and occasionally in my apartment.
