Spacious and new but slow management response
Pros
Marco, the head super, is great and very responsive (hopefully he still works with this building)! The apartments are spacious and have high ceilings. Having so much space along with a patio was one of the highlights of living here for multiple years. The bathrooms are large, modern appliances and kitchen worked great for us. We didn't have a ton of maintenance issues because the unit was new and nice. There is a ton of space for storage also. There was a virtual doorbell, allowing us to see who was ringing the bell before buzzing them in.
Cons
The landlord raised the rent significantly from year to year, requiring negotiating that worked one year and did not work the following year. The rent is priced far above the median income of the area. Maintenance people they hired later into our stay were often not knowledgeable about the problems and sometimes made them worse (for example, he didn't know how to install a gas stove, which led to us having to call Con-Edison because of gas leaking out of the improperly installed stove). The neighborhood can be loud, and there were multiple (but occasional) issues with the door not working properly.
Advice to the owners
Remember that this space operates as people's home.
