Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenants across buildings managed by Richard Rosan report consistent management challenges such as poor pest control, lack of building cleanliness, and frequent maintenance neglect. Heating irregularities and unreliable water pressure are common complaints, alongside slow or dismissive owner responsiveness. Several reviews highlight problematic supers and security issues, including broken entry systems and package theft. While neighbors and location are often praised, the management's inadequate upkeep and communication cause frustration. Some buildings have rent stabilization, but substantial concerns about health hazards, structural issues, and rising rents without proper repairs suggest managerial neglect. Renters advise increased maintenance staff, pest extermination, and improved communication to enhance living conditions.

Reviews

Can only hope that new ownership is better

Pros

- Under new ownership - No amenity fee - High ceilings

Cons

- Supers, despite being live-in, range from unresponsive to openly hostile to service requests - Gaslit tenants for months about roach infestation - Hallways are dingy and rarely cleaned - Charges fees to pay rent - even through ACH - Water pressure is mid - Atypical window size makes it difficult to install A/C - Laundry requires walking outside to access

Advice to the owners

Invest in pest management, fire the supers, and restore common spaces

Spacious apartment gem, management could be improved

Pros

- big apartment with natural light - in general, a quiet street - rent stabilized

Cons

- packages were stolen from lobby - mailbox broken into one time - without a working shower for some time due to a burst pipe - management was not urgently responsive to both of these situatios
