Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant feedback for buildings managed by Steven Haskell reveals a mixed management performance. Highly praised properties like 83 Bleecker Street and 114 Christopher Street benefit from attentive, responsive supers and well-maintained, clean buildings with prompt issue resolution. However, other buildings, notably 117 East 11 Street, suffer from persistent heating failures, pest problems, noise disturbances from nearby nightlife, and unresponsive management or supers. While some renters appreciate the location and potential of the units, concerns over outdated infrastructure, inadequate amenities like insufficient laundry facilities, and inconsistent owner responsiveness are recurrent. Overall, tenants can expect excellent management in some buildings, but issues remain in others requiring stronger oversight.

Would not recommend

Pros

Good general location, but gets extremely loud and crowded Wednesday-Saturday night from the club across the street and Webster hall

Cons

Pest problems, poor management, heating issues

Former tenant·2 months ago

Outdated and variable

Pros

Respectful neighbors, bedrooms facing the back are super soundproof due to ancient, thick walls. Central location. Only one washer/dryer for the entire building but haven't really had issues getting my laundry done.

Cons

Very outdated units - slanted floors, appliances falling apart, doors falling off closets. Had mice issues which took months to resolve. The worst water pressure I've ever experienced. Heat is super spotty, was living with our kitchen/living room at 55 degrees for most of the winter. Old and new supers unresponsive and not very helpful.
