Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent reviews for buildings managed by Alan Wasserman highlight well-maintained, clean properties with responsive and helpful management staff. Tenants generally praise the effective garbage management, pest control, and heating systems. However, noise issues persist due to thin walls and a sometimes younger, louder tenant base. Package theft and security concerns have been flagged, with calls for improved security measures such as surveillance cameras and safer package delivery solutions. While some report occasional maintenance delays and a lack of modernization, the overall management is viewed as attentive and proactive in addressing tenant concerns, making these buildings a reasonable choice for renters valuing affordability and responsiveness.

Lived here since August '25

Pros

Good layout, no pests as far as I am concerned. Love the rooms, very spacious.

Cons

My neighbor is loud. I have no idea how he has not been kicked out, and nothing is really being done about it.

Former tenant·3 months ago

Non-stop noise, paper thin walls, dogs everywhere

Pros

Affordable as a first time studio, located on the east river with trees and laundry on the block. Utilities included and no broker fees (if your real estate agent is taking you here, they’re scammers).

Cons

Expect to hear everything your neighbors on all sides of you do. After living in this building for 5 years, I’ve seen a new neighbor on every side every lease renewal because it’s honestly very difficult to tolerate hearing everything single sound your neighbor makes. Not sure if apartments were once larger and then separated by rice paper, but I shouldn’t be able to hear every detail of my neighbors life. Hear is controlled by management and apartment is usually hotter than a sauna, but I don’t pay for it so whatever.

Advice to the owners

Allow pets with a size limit. Be proactive in stopping noise (your rental office is in the same corridor where barking dogs can be heard reverberating all day).
