Review Summary for Mccallister Management LLC
Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent tenant feedback for MCCALLISTER MANAGEMENT LLC buildings reveals a mixed experience. While many buildings feature modern designs, updated appliances, and convenient amenities like keyless entry and roof decks, frequent complaints focus on slow owner responsiveness and inconsistent maintenance. Noise from neighbors and construction, poor garbage management, and occasional pest issues also affect satisfaction. Some residents report unclean common areas and management's inadequate handling of disruptive tenants. However, when management is responsive, tenants appreciate their attentiveness and find the living environment pleasant with good neighbors. Overall, management could improve timely communication and upkeep to elevate tenant satisfaction.

Terrible tenants and building manager
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nice new building
Cons:
Inconsiderate tenants, constant roof parties with loud music, leave messy and expect others to pick up after them. Building management does not care.
Advice to owner:
Manage your tenants, stop the loud roof parties

Pretty Good Building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Building feels well built. The unit is spacious and sturdy. Walls are thick so I've never gotten a noise complaint. Neighbors have to be blasting music for me to hear anything, and even when that's happened it's been fairly muffled and quiet. Fair trade for my own freedom. The building kind of feels like a bunker, which is nice if you get overwhelmed by the city. Management was fairly attentive and the super is very nice.
Cons:
Expensive units = wealthy neighbors, so the neighbors can be entitled. The super constantly had to unclog the trash chute because the neighbors carelessly threw un-bagged garbage down the chute. Also, the building is on First Ave which can be loud and hectic.

Worst service I have experienced in renting
Former Tenant
Pros:
There's not too much to like. The location is good, but it can get loud.
Cons:
Maintenance and support. There's a lack of service when you need something. I had to call 311 multiple times until they got back to me.
Advice to owner:
Literally respond to email, texts, and calls. Don't complain about parties calling 311 to report you and ask us not to call 311 to solve.

Great apartment with minor inconveniences
Former Tenant
Pros:
Well maintained stairway. Modern aesthetic. Very little rent increase. Great neighborhood, responsive management
Cons:
Gym is not well maintained (has a lot of flies). Packages can pileup very fast. Water heating is slow, water pressure is okay, appliances are not too efficient. Sink buildup because it's flat / a lot of form over function. My unit has little sunlight. Far from train and Atlantic Ave has too many car collisions
Advice to owner:
Fix minor issues and the only con would be that this is a walk-up

Pros:
Nice appliances and furnishing, amazing roof deck, fun neighbors. Good vibes
Cons:
We had mice
Advice to owner:
Try to get rid of the mice

Convenient but appearance not a priority for owners
Former Tenant
Pros:
Latch app for building and apartment access is very convenient. Maintenance is friendly and responsive.
Cons:
The common areas (hallways, back patio) aren’t kept up well. The back patio was advertised as a common gathering area, but in reality is a dirty, unpleasant area where trash and recycling bins are that butts up against a construction site.
Advice to owner:
Clean up the common areas and don’t paint dark hallways dark colors.

Quiet, Clean Apartment in Crown Heights
Former Tenant
Pros:
Management is responsive to issues, nice appliances and finishes, Latch electronic key system, beautiful hardwood floors, A/C and heat units.
Cons:
Apartment was not as clean from the last tenant as it should have been and many things were broken upon move in. However, these issues were resolved by maintenance pretty quickly.
Advice to owner:
Upkeep of the front of the apartment could be better.
