Cheap but meh apartment
Pros
Bed stuy is getting better, the super is incredibly kind, responsive, and supportive. Laundry in basement. AC is good. Updated appliances.
Cons
Owners advertised the roof as an amenity but then got rid of all of our furniture up there and said we could not go up. But continually advertised the roof as an amenity to new tenants. Extremely unresponsive in terms of pests. Have to seriously threaten. Pretended to barely speak English at times to avoid us. WALLS ARE SOO THIN! You can hear everything in the building, especially roommates but also other apartments on different floors. Didn’t clean the basement nearly enough. A lot of super religious neighbours so you might get looks. I deep cleaned the apartment and proper spackled and painted the walls. He took off 200 of my deposit because he said he’d had to repaint them, even though it had been 3 years and you have to repaint apartment walls in NYC after 3 years anyways. We were great tenants, super clean and always on top of everything.
Advice to the owners
Allow tenants to use the roof as advertise. Respond in a timely fahsion. Don’t be so cheap and take advantage of clean young female tenants.
