Decent Student Apartment
Pros
The unit had a fairly spacious common area compared to apartments in this neighborhood. Management was, in general, fairly responsive; and once accommodated a request to extend the renewal deadline, which I appreciated.
Cons
The biggest con was the mice!! Management offered to refer us to an exterminator; I wasn’t clear if the cost would be covered by them, or if we were expected to pay for it. I’d recommend asking about this before moving in. I saw an occasional roach in the stairwell, but I don’t remember any in the unit. Other than that, the “railroad-style” layout is, in my opinion, not worth it unless it’s truly your only option. And while the price wasn’t unusual for the neighborhood, it was definitely too high for a unit that required one of the three occupants to pass through the others’ bedrooms to get to the kitchen/common area/bathroom.
Advice to the owners
Take proactive steps to address mouse problem.
