Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenant feedback for buildings managed by Alan Jamnik consistently points to serious management shortcomings. Many report persistent pest infestations, especially rodents, which remain unaddressed despite frequent tenant complaints. Garbage management and overall cleanliness are rated poorly, contributing to unsatisfactory living conditions. Tenants express frustration with slow or absent landlord responsiveness, including delayed or ignored maintenance requests. Noise levels and old, cheap appliances further diminish comfort, and some tenants note unfair financial practices, such as questionable charges and difficulties reclaiming deposits. Overall, the management appears unresponsive and neglectful, negatively affecting tenant satisfaction and building upkeep. Prospects should be cautious when considering these buildings.

Pests + Bad Landlord. NOT RECOMMENDED

Pros

Building itself has good tenants

Cons

This building has serious issues that never get properly addressed. There are constant pest problems, including a significant number of mice, and despite reaching out to the landlord regularly (calls and texts almost every month), nothing is actually resolved. Alan repeatedly says someone will come, but no one ever does. The landlord/owner (Alan) also threatens tenants. On top of that, he looks for any opportunity to charge extra fees and will make up questionable charges to squeeze more money out of tenants. After a year of living here, issues that we had upon move in from the last tenants were never resolved AND Alan tried to charge for that. The area immediately outside the building also feels unsafe, which only adds to the overall negative experience living here.

Don’t live here

Pros

Lots of places nearby for whatever you need

Cons

The appliances (microwave, stove, fridge) are cheap as hell, they are likely to break during your time there. The building is right on 3rd avenue and it’s very loud. You can hear everything that goes on outside. The worst part is that it’s infested with rodents. It’s right next to a McDonald’s and every single night I would see a mouse in the apartment

Advice to the owners
