Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenant reviews for David Kershner's buildings reveal a highly inconsistent management experience. Some buildings are praised for spacious apartments, good location, attentive staff, and occasional quick owner responsiveness. However, a significant number of reviews report pervasive issues such as chronic pest infestations (mice, roaches, water bugs), poor cleanliness, unreliable heating, faulty elevators, noise disturbances, and generally unprofessional or unresponsive management. Multiple buildings suffer from maintenance neglect, safety concerns, and lack of proper renovations. Tenants police safety and tenant treatment issues, with reports of superintendents being rude or negligent. Prospective renters should expect variable conditions and potentially slow or inadequate management support.

Big pest problem

Pros

The building is a 5 minute walk to the Staten Island ferry. Supervisor is reachable and quick to respond.

Cons

Mice and roaches are seen throughout the building. Issues with hot water, water pressure, lack of water can go on for weeks.

Advice to the owners

Keep the apartment complex in better condition and more sanitary.

Amazing experience for 3 years!

Pros

Huge apartments for low price. For an old building was very clean and well run.

Cons

Doormen were half great half ok
