Fine place to live, but could use some upgrades
Former Tenant
Pros:
Convenience to transit
Cons:
Neighborhood is a little iffy. No streetlights and not the most reassuring walk from transit alone at night. No in-building washer/dryer.

Pretty good building, a couple issues
Former Tenant
Pros:
Lived here for several years and everything generally worked pretty well. If there were issues with water or appliances, management was fairly quick to fix. Neighbors within the building were always nice.
Cons:
Main problem during our time there was the noise levels from Vernon Ave. People hang out there all night (I'm talking 1am-7am) and blast music. Sometimes the cops set up shop there for a few weeks and the noise dies down. But then it comes back. Occasionally there's gang violence and drug dealing on that corner too.

Other problems with the building. We had pretty severe water damage in our apartment, and when they came to fix it, they just painted over it essentially. The damage was still there.

The other big thing is that when we left the apartment, they screwed us on the security deposit. We left the apartment in great condition except for some holes from nails and thumbtacks in the wall (normal wear and tear). They said they would do a 'walk-through' with us in advance to tell us what needed fixing, but they failed to show up for that. So then they stole most of our security deposit: $2650 out of $2700. They claimed it was "$50 for cleaning fee, and $2600 for patching the holes in the walls." So beware that they might screw you on that.
Advice to owner:
When someone lives in your building for 9 years and always pays rent on time, and then *you* fail to do a walk-through with them, don't screw them over on their security deposit. Bad karma.
