Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenant feedback for buildings managed by Joel Waldman reveals mixed experiences. Some residents praise the cleanliness, attentive superintendents, and decent maintenance responsiveness in certain locations, appreciating features like rooftop access and amenities at competitive prices. However, common issues include thin walls causing noise problems, inconsistent heating, pest presence, and unreliable garbage management. Several reviews cite management's slow or unprofessional response to serious maintenance and tenant concerns. Neighbor relations vary widely, with some reporting toxic roommates or disruptive behavior. Overall, renters should expect variable management quality—some buildings receive timely attention, while others suffer from neglect and inadequate upkeep.

Decent building, nothing special

Pros

Building is generally good. Nice neighbors, clean, OK management response times in general for any issues. Nice to have outdoor roof access

Cons

Windows are terrible for temperature regulation - allows all the heat in in the summer and so cold in winter, we had to add DIY window insulation. The laundry situation is also challenging as transactions must be made through the PayRange app which requires a BlueTooth connection to machines and also wifi/data connection, which is extremely weak to nonexistent in the basement.

Pros

Super is attentive and they manage the building well.

Cons

Walls are thin so you can hear everything.
