Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant reviews indicate that Frank Pecora's buildings vary significantly in quality. While some residents praise the cleanliness, management responsiveness, and overall maintenance in select properties, others report severe issues such as pest infestations, poor garbage management, and significant heating problems. Building conditions are sometimes hindered by age, with complaints about noise levels and unsealed windows impacting comfort. Tenants highlight the need for more proactive management, particularly in addressing maintenance and pest control. Overall, while some buildings may offer a good experience, others face serious management shortcomings that prospective renters should consider.

Reviews

Very solid for the price

Pros

Quiet, reasonably clean for the age of the building, decently maintained.

Cons

It is an older building, but overall nothing gross or bad!

Phorid/Scuttle Flies and unsealed windows

Pros

Building management was relatively quick to respond. Convenient location close to the Q, and a bodega. Multiple gyms in the area and relatively easy access to Costco

Cons

Windows in at least my unit were not sealed properly leaving heat to leave the unit, and cold air to come in (especially annoying during Winter). The building or nearby surrounding area has a Phorid fly infestation (have seen them flying around the garbage bins inside the building). The combination of flies inside the building and unsealed windows allowed them to come into the apartment consistently (it slowed but didn’t stop once plastic covers were put to across the windows to seal them out). The building is being sold so no context on future owners/problems

Advice to the owners

There is possibly a leak in either another unit/building/neighbor as a whole to look into.
