Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenants renting in buildings managed by Mark Scharfman experience a mixed management quality. Positives include generally quiet buildings, decent cleanliness in many locations, responsive landlords in some cases, and affordable rents with spacious apartments. The neighbors are often described as friendly, and pest control tends to be effective in several buildings. However, recurrent issues arise with unresponsive supers and management, problematic laundry facilities, noise in some courtyards, package theft, and inconsistent heating. Many emphasize poor communication and lack of timely maintenance, with suggestions for improved security measures and better upkeep. Rent increases frequent, and some buildings lack modern renovations or adequate pest prevention.
