Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenant reviews for buildings managed by Stuart Gilman reveal varied experiences. Positive feedback highlights responsive and friendly management with attentive live-in supers, well-maintained trash areas, and generally clean buildings. Rent stabilization and affordable options are appreciated. However, several reviews express significant concerns around pest infestations (roach, mice, bed bugs), inconsistent maintenance, noise from neighbors, and occasional neglect in enforcing building rules. Some buildings struggle with poor cleanliness, water leaks, and security issues like package theft. Management responsiveness varies, with complaints mostly tied to specific buildings rather than overall ownership. Prospective renters should expect a mix of well-managed properties and others needing significant improvements, especially in pest control and maintenance.

261 Gates Avenue

Pros

Building is kept clean, haven’t had any problems with mail or packages, Amazon locker in lobby, trash is neatly maintained.

Cons

LOUD heating (radiator/steam pipes), barking dogs, some tenant noise, have had a few small cockroaches, but monthly exterminator sprays definitely have reduced this.
