Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenants of Eduardo Jimenez's buildings report a mixed experience. Several appreciate the responsive and friendly superintendents at specific locations, citing well-kept apartments with good heating and clean common areas. However, complaints reveal inconsistent maintenance follow-through, slow owner responsiveness, and pest issues, particularly rats and cockroaches. Noise disturbances from neighbors or nearby daycare centers and security concerns at some sites also affect resident satisfaction. Many advise better communication, pest control, and investment in infrastructure upgrades. Overall, while some buildings exhibit attentive management and a safe environment, others suffer from neglect, requiring improved care and tenant engagement to elevate living conditions.

Reviews

Former tenant·10 minutes ago

Lacking peace, quality, and maintenance.

Pros

Spacious apartments, common areas maintained fairly well by building maintenance, have not dealt with pests often.

Cons

Super is very inaccessible so maintenance requests are hard to get completed. There are two day cares in the building that are very loud and disruptive during the day. One of the streets the building overlooks (Henshaw St) is often very loud, dirty, and overall obnoxious. Neighbors can occasionally be loud. Apartment renovations were done with low-quality materials that are already deteriorating.

Advice to the owners

The super needs to respond and complete requests better and the daycare needs to be held to the same (or higher) standards as residents for respecting the sanctity of the building.

Pros

Quiet, well kept, safe feeling, super helpful and friendly, old building but apartments are well kept and updated. The super responds when there are issues. No Laundry in the building but the laundromat is just downstairs. Lots of families live there.

Cons

Old building so it does have some issues. Walk up building (I have lived on the 4th floor for 10 years! Noisy at times on the block and a lot of double parking.
