cockroaches and mice! the neighbors (c) openigloo in the building next door (c) openigloo sorted cans everyday and their (c) openigloo balcony was directly next to (c) openigloo our window so i could (c) openigloo hear cans being sorted from (c) openigloo morning to night. the landlord (c) openigloo does his best and is (c) openigloo nice but owner is cheap (c) openigloo and didn’t fix our buzzer (c) openigloo for 6 months+. also packages (c) openigloo were stolen 24/7 and the (c) openigloo owner barely did anything about (c) openigloo it

Great location before all the (c) openigloo morons came to the Lower (c) openigloo East Side. I got my (c) openigloo security deposit back.
Cons:
Building was dirty and neighbors (c) openigloo weren't covid compliant when the (c) openigloo lockdown went into effect, always (c) openigloo had to pass a guy (c) openigloo coughing and smoking on the (c) openigloo stairwell in order to leave. (c) openigloo Walls were thin, neighbors were (c) openigloo loud. Bedbugs went through the (c) openigloo building twice. After hurricane Sandy (c) openigloo rats chewed through the walls (c) openigloo under my sink. I dealt (c) openigloo with the same leaking pipe (c) openigloo in the wall that flooded (c) openigloo my apartment 3 or 4 (c) openigloo times. The super drinks a (c) openigloo lot and is basically worthless.

-so many thieves nearby (your (c) openigloo packages WILL BE STOLEN) -owners will (c) openigloo not pay for repairs, even (c) openigloo if it’s in the middle (c) openigloo of winter and your window (c) openigloo is about to fall out (c) openigloo of the building frame. -the hot (c) openigloo water will often not work. (c) openigloo Yes also in the middle (c) openigloo of winter. -it is not clean. (c) openigloo Think pigeon sh*t all over (c) openigloo the non street facing windows (c) openigloo 24/7 and regular roach friends. -people (c) openigloo on the street will warn (c) openigloo you and tell you the (c) openigloo building is cursed. Yes this (c) openigloo happened to me, and yes (c) openigloo I do now believe them. -be (c) openigloo prepared to really gain some (c) openigloo good ol nyc grit living (c) openigloo here. -the call box will likely (c) openigloo not work based on your (c) openigloo unit, also leading to even (c) openigloo more stolen packages. -the building is (c) openigloo one of he least secure (c) openigloo buildings in LES, to the (c) openigloo point where if you ever (c) openigloo chat with a cop about (c) openigloo where you live and the (c) openigloo building you’re in comes up, (c) openigloo they will personally warm you (c) openigloo about how insecure the building (c) openigloo is.
Advice to owner:
Fix the g****** stuff wrong with the building. Do the bare minimum to ensure this is a livable place to live.

1. Upkeep is pretty poor, (c) openigloo there isn't much maintenance or (c) openigloo improvements to the building other (c) openigloo than constantly repainting their walls 2. (c) openigloo Landlord and management is mostly (c) openigloo unresponsive 3. Doors are in poor (c) openigloo condition and should all be (c) openigloo replaced. Along with windows.
Advice to owner:
Fix up some of the stuff. They are cheap fixes for the amount you make. Living in nyc, tenants should not live in a potentially unsafe building. Should be more responsible and maintain the building.

Cons:
They’ve been around and will (c) openigloo only fix the items they (c) openigloo feel are urgent. They also (c) openigloo tend to delay repairs and (c) openigloo do a half ass job. (c) openigloo Most times it is a (c) openigloo temporary fix and you will (c) openigloo be calling them back in (c) openigloo few months or weeks to (c) openigloo fix it again.
Advice to owner:
Treat all the tenants equally in terms of repairs and service responses.

The super is very helpful, (c) openigloo responsive, and friendly Never had any (c) openigloo pest problems in the unit (c) openigloo (but also never had an (c) openigloo exterminator come and also saw (c) openigloo a mouse in the entryway)
Cons:
Packages broken into or stolen (c) openigloo on occasion. Bad hot water- sometimes (c) openigloo the shower will never heat (c) openigloo up or it will go (c) openigloo cold mid-shower Heat isn’t so great There (c) openigloo is a resident who smokes (c) openigloo cigarettes out of the second (c) openigloo floor stairwell window and it (c) openigloo makes the whole stairwell stink. The (c) openigloo management company hardly exists. They (c) openigloo are difficult to get in (c) openigloo contact with. The few times (c) openigloo we did contact them, they (c) openigloo have been “okay” but they (c) openigloo walk the line of being (c) openigloo sketchy and they typically approach (c) openigloo building issues with patchwork solutions.
Advice to owner:
Get some rugs for the hallway to help keep the floors from being a mess in bad weather

(c) openigloo good luck, it’ll come out (c) openigloo scorching hot -the heat gets extremely (c) openigloo hot, you will have to (c) openigloo have your window open in (c) openigloo the winter time -doesn’t matter how (c) openigloo clean you are, you will (c) openigloo find roaches and/our roach droppings (c) openigloo in all your cabinets

The location is amazing, and (c) openigloo we really enjoyed our time (c) openigloo living there. It was relatively (c) openigloo frictionless and overall positive.
Cons:
It was SO COLD in (c) openigloo the winters. We didn’t have (c) openigloo control over the temperature and (c) openigloo they turned the heat on (c) openigloo just long enough to prevent (c) openigloo the pipes from freezing.
Advice to owner:
Turn the heat on more often!

Bed bugs.; roaches, mice, (c) openigloo high lead paint in the (c) openigloo building... no heat in the (c) openigloo winter ...leaks from neighbors. Weeks (c) openigloo to fixs anything ...
Advice to owner:
First the heating system, water pressure off can't get cold or hot water without being burned or frozen. The front Sewer system overflows regularly in front of the building. Mice and rats run in and out of the building. Flies in the building during the summer even hallway. Floor is slippy when wet from the rain. Paint is always peeling as well as drug addicts are in front from the research program nexts door.
