Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenant reviews for buildings managed by Neil Madsen reveal a mixed but generally responsive management style. Many residents appreciate the promptness of maintenance and the attentiveness of supers, who are often praised for quick fixes and communication. Cleanliness and pest control vary by building, with some locations reporting persistent pest issues and cleanliness concerns, while others are well-maintained. Noise can be a problem in some areas, including nightlife disturbances and thin walls. Heating is mostly functional but occasionally inconsistent, and some tenants note challenges with aging infrastructure like narrow staircases and low water pressure. Overall, management is seen as approachable, though rent hikes and building upkeep could benefit from improvement.

Great place to live, responsive management

Pros

The building is pretty clean, never had any issues except a leaky sink and management got it fixed asap. Packages have always been safe and laundry machines were recently updated to use an app instead of quarters which is nice.

Cons

The bars next door/in the courtyard around back can get a bit rowdy some night, sound bleeds through even with windows shut but it's NYC so can't complain too much. Also, be warned that this block is along a parade route so some early weekend mornings will be filled with drum lines and DJs blasting at full volume.

it is okay

Pros

- The super is very responsive and nice

Cons

- lately have found multiple roaches - if you have more than 1 a/c unit running sometimes you blow a fuse - sometimes someone smokes cigs in the hallways so it smells and sometime they don't trow away the cig bud - no laundry
