Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenants renting buildings managed by Ahron Freidus experience a mix of positives and challenges. The management is praised for being responsive and maintaining a quiet, friendly neighbor environment in well-located buildings with updated units. The superintendents often show care and effort despite limited resources. However, common issues include inconsistent hallway cleanliness, occasional pest problems, and cramped unit spaces with limited amenities such as laundry. Garbage areas tend to be poorly maintained, and some maintenance concerns persist over time. Suggestions include enhancing cleaning routines, pest control consistency, and building upkeep to improve tenant satisfaction. Overall, management demonstrates responsiveness but building conditions vary.

Great value and nice super

Pros

The unit itself is nice and recently renovated. The super shows effort in maintaining the pre-war building. I think the building has a good value proposition.

Cons

While the unit is a 1 bedroom, the bedroom is tight. Like only the bed fits and nothing else. There's no in building laundry. The kitchen is a bit tight with the smaller oven. I love baking and making a large thanksgiving dinner every year but the smaller oven is unfortunately preventing me from doing that. But, I will say the property owner has been creative with the availability of space and provides the framework to be efficient.

Advice to the owners

I think the apartment has great value and I can't appreciate enough how much work the super does. He's so kind.

Affordable

Pros

The rent was reasonable for the neighborhood. No increase in rent for the two years I was there.

Cons

Mouse issue which building management was responsive to. Garbage area was never clean.

Advice to the owners

Make sure trash area is clean at all time. There was a old fish tank there for years that no one would throw out.
