Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant reviews of buildings managed by PARKVIEW MANAGEMENT reveal a mixed management experience. Positive aspects include some responsive management, especially at certain addresses, and residents appreciate spacious apartments and good neighborhood locations. However, there are recurring complaints about poor building maintenance, slow or unresponsive management to repair requests, pest issues, water leaks, heating irregularities, and security concerns. Garbage management and cleanliness are often rated low. Tenants also highlight frustrations with delayed maintenance, inconsistent heat, noisy environments, and occasional misinformation about amenities. Overall, prospective renters should expect variable responsiveness and ongoing infrastructure challenges, with improvements needed in communication and property upkeep.

I'm in 354 Myrtle Avenue/ Nice apartment, responsive management company

Pros

I loved out a year and a half ago. The building changed while we were there with Popeyes moving in (smell of grease was not inviting). We also had packages stolen regularly.

Cons

Wish there was a keypad at the front door so I didn't have to carry a key with me. The buzzer in my apartment doesn't ring so I don't know when a delivery is here.

Advice to the owners

I'd love an entry keypad. Also the ability to let a delivery person in remotely would be nice.

Its a lot of little things

Pros

First off, the house is decently sized and well constructed. The water has been good, the floors are nice, and the stairs aren't terrible. The interconnected smoke alarms are a nice touch and help me sleep a bit better at night, and the whole house central air for heating/cooling is a welcome addition.

Cons

The appliances are subpar, requiring multiple repairs and replacements. The stove heats up the oven controls to the point it damages the control board, the microwave had to be replaced when the door sensor stopped registering the door closed, and the dishwasher is falling apart. Getting maintenance to fix things is like pulling teeth, including having to explain to people what an interconnected smoke alarm is. We are still without one smoke detector after 3 months. The basement can flood during the rainy season as the foundation has some drainage issues, and the drain at the backdoor is not maintained. The trees around the property are not maintained despite repeated requests. The insulation seems shoddy in spots, various rooms will end up way hotter or colder than the rest of the house and since the central air is a single zone, there is no way to adjust a single room. The stairs railing is not maintained and seems dangerous, the fire ladder to the roof looks to be detached on one side, the windows are single pane and drafty, and there are a lot of them. They also let in a lot of sunlight, to the point it makes areas of the floor very hot on sunny days.

Advice to the owners

The property owner needs to take a look at the details of the property and maintain it regularly. The building needs a lot of minor work that adds up, and the maintenance people are hard to get in contact with.
