DO NOT LIVE HERE - Completely negligent management, and massive, dangerous mold issue

Pros

Near prospect park.

Cons

Huge growths of mold throughout the lower levels that management painted over multiple times instead of addressing, despite numerous calls to 311 and health department. The HVAC units throughout the entire building are COMPLETELY filled with mold. We requested maintenance on ours, but got no reply. My cat grew extremely sick and died a few months after moving in. I got a new cat, and it began showing the same, exact symptoms, which completely went away immediately after moving out. Air quality sensors also consistently measured dangerously high levels of formaldehyde gas in the building. Building amenities we are paying for are completely unusable because of mold and stench. Multiple break-ins in which our stuff was stolen, and a know sexual predator broke in and harassed two women. Management DID NOT NOTIF TENANTS of any of these incidents, endangering all of our safety, including children in the building. Management lied about filing a police report, and refused to provide video evidence that would identify the suspect in the indecent exposure/sexual harassment incident. Con-Ed connected all apartments to the wrong apartment, so everyone has been either not paying or paying someone else’s bill for a year. Con Ed said management is necessary to resolve the issue, but management has refused to comply, leaving tenants all paying random, huge bills. Management fired cleaner and did not hire a new one so common spaces are filthy. A large fire in a neighboring building caused excessive smoke damage to multiple apartments, which was not properly addressed. The entire building is just cheaply made to maximize profit for management. Tenants who complain are told that they can just move out. Management is unresponsive, condescending, rude, completely negligent, and endangers tenants. I cannot recommend agains this building strongly enough. DO NOT LIVE HERE.

Advice to the owners

Start caring about the well-being of your tenants. You will not get away with this level of negligence forever.

Unresponsive Management and Worthless Super

Pros

No one cares about anything so you can do whatever you want.

Cons

The management doesn’t care about anything issues you may have. The super is unresponsive, and even if you manage to see him in person, he lies to your face that he’ll look at your issue tomorrow. Tomorrow never comes. Garbage management and cleaning is done by homeless looking people.

Advice to the owners

Fire the super.
