Spacious for the price yet some trade-offs
Former Tenant
Pros:
- Good sized apartment for the price
- Minimal outside noise
- 3-4 minute proximity to train stations
- Helpful super
Cons:
- Washer/Dryer breaks frequently and only 2 of each available
- Packages have been stolen occasionally (Sometimes building door does not close fully)
- Poor heating controlled by the building (including water, takes very long to heat)
- Outdated kitchen
- Thin walls and floors, can hear others walking around or shouting
Advice to owner:
Update your washer dryer or improve their maintenance. Improve the building heating.

Landlords churn tenants
Former Tenant
Pros:
Close to Trader Joe’s.
Cons:
The management is more concerned with maximizing rents and churn tenants. Trust that they will increase the rent the maximum amount every year. It’s a good place if you plan to only stay one year. You will see new neighbors on a regular which doesn’t make you feel safe since you see new faces all the time. The landlords don’t care for or want long term tenants outside of those in rent stabilized units, since they have no choice.

Also, fix the infestation. Constantly struggled with roaches and I heard other neighbors complain about mice.
Advice to owner:
Fix the pest infestation and keep loyal tenants that pay on time and avoid maximizing rent increases to levels higher than they were pre-pandemic

elevator and super is really nice.
Cons:
persistent roach and mice problem. gets someone to spray but doesn’t actually resolve the root problem.

The Most Evil Landlord of All The Land
Former Tenant
Pros:
Convenient to the subway and location
Cons:
Walls are paper thin and everyone has neighbor noise issues. The landlord is heartless and schemey and raised the rent 50% after one year. He does not care about the tenants whatsoever. The super is nice but can be hard to get answers or a hold of.
Advice to owner:
