Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent reviews of buildings managed by Marisa Kinsey indicate a generally favorable environment, especially thanks to attentive management and responsive superintendents like James. Most residents appreciate the cleanliness and decent noise levels, although some mention issues with heat control and occasional pest problems. Garbage management receives positive notes, and water pressure is consistently rated well. However, tenants have expressed concerns about owner responsiveness in certain cases and the physical challenges of walk-up buildings. Overall, while some improvements are needed, tenants find these buildings a good fit, particularly for those seeking community-oriented living in desirable locations.

Good Place, But Not the Best

Pros

-Water pressure is great and hot water lasts -Solid living room space -Brick wall was nice -Rooms are decently sized for the UES -Laundry in apt complex

Cons

-Stairs are brutal -Garbage & Laundry is in the basement so again the stairs are brutal -We didn’t have a roach or mice (we saw them once for our multi years) but heard neighbors had issues -Managrmnt is responsive but a little unprofessional -The super could either responds quickly or never -THE STAIRS

Good affordable option

Pros

The super is great. Management cleans the common area at least once a week. Pest control is available once a month if needed but we’ve had minimal issues (a few roaches over the span of multiple years but nothing crazy). The back of the building is super quiet but I imagine units on the front get much more noise (the street is especially busy on the weekends in the summer as there are a ton of restaurants/bars with outdoor seating). Rent increases are very reasonable and the management company is willing to negotiate if you’re a good tenant. The building is mostly young post grads so some neighbors can be noisey but it’s usually just on weekends and never so bad that I can’t sleep.

Cons

Tenants can’t control the heat so some units do end up over heated.
