Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent renter feedback for Charles Coutinho, PhD’s buildings highlights well-maintained, clean properties with responsive superintendents and convenient amenities favored by students. Buildings are generally quiet with friendly neighbors, good heating, and strong water pressure. However, some tenants note inconsistent owner responsiveness, particularly from the management company, delays in addressing higher-level maintenance, and occasional pest issues. Noise from common heating systems and a few infrastructure quirks are mentioned but expected given the student-heavy occupancy. Tenants suggest improving communication and more proactive management to elevate living experiences. Overall, the properties offer a positive community atmosphere and effective day-to-day maintenance despite some management shortcomings.

Good Building, Awful Company

Pros

The Superintendent is responsive and quick, and the laundry facilities are pretty good. The location is great for students and has close access to multiple forms of public transit.

Cons

It gets very warm in the winter, and while the Super was great, the management company landlord was slow to respond to higher-level maintenance requests and was generally very cutthroat and shady.

Advice to the owners

Be more open and communicative with tenants

good student living

Pros

small community, quiet street (the claremont side, broadway is more active), subway and bus stops very close, great food options, banks and pharmacies nearby, clean building

Cons

more expensive than necessary, weird people hang out outside the liquor store on the corner, slanted floors, heat doesn't turn on sometimes

Advice to the owners

be more responsive/helpful
