Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant feedback for buildings managed by John Yavroyan highlights well-maintained, charming prewar apartments with attentive doormen and maintenance staff. Residents appreciate the elegant building features and quiet, secure environment. However, recurring issues include occasional elevator problems, persistent pest control challenges, and intermittent water (especially hot water) disruptions. Management is generally responsive but could improve in addressing underlying maintenance problems more comprehensively. Suggestions include enhanced pest eradication efforts and upgrading building amenities such as the basement area. Overall, the management is seen as caring, with a solid commitment to resident satisfaction despite some infrastructural drawbacks.

Well maintained building

Pros

Charming pre war apartments with great service.

Cons

Elevators can be problematic at times, but the staff takes great care of the building and it on top of any issues

Mixed bag - Lovely building and nice staff but some underlying issues

Pros

Doormen, super, and maintenance staff are terrific. Building is elegant. Beautiful lobby and dual elevators are great. Love the prewar details.

Cons

Regular bug problems that the building tries to address but problems persist. Very frequent water outages and especially hot water outages (every 2 weeks) for repairs.

Advice to the owners

A deeper hunt for the bug source(s) and eradication thereof is necessary to really get at the problem. Merely spraying in the apartments and common areas is only a topical solution.
