Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant feedback on Abraham Schwartz's buildings highlights inconsistent management quality. Some appreciate good locations, spacious units, and friendly neighbors in a few buildings, with occasional upgraded appliances and amenities. However, many reviews point to serious issues: poor cleanliness, pest infestations including rodents and roaches, inadequate heating, and problematic noise levels. The landlord is frequently described as unresponsive, slow to address maintenance, and neglectful of tenant concerns. Security lapses and unresolved plumbing or structural problems are common complaints. Overall, renters should expect a mix of decent living spaces overshadowed by management neglect and maintenance challenges.

Reviews

Former tenant·10 minutes ago

noisy unclean building

Pros

liked our unit, size was good, living room was bigger than anywhere ive lived before in nyc

Cons

loud neighbors, strangers being let in and out of the building constantly, once had a homeless person sleeping in the hallway, we had an infestation of 5 mice all within one week and saw multiple roaches throughout the year. landlord often would not process our rent checks for months at a time

Advice to the owners

take peoples rent checks on time, fix your front door for more security, and stop using URINAL CAKES to "freshen up" the smell of your dirty hallways instead of actually cleaning.

Former tenant·5 months ago

Horrible building. Abraham Schwartz is a crook and will trick you.

Pros

In-unit washer drier. Location.

Cons

Abraham Schwartz is withholding our security deposit and is a total crook. The building is filthy outside of the unit, and the walls are thin, so the people living there play music loudly to drown each other out. The building is constantly smoky and smoke comes up out of the radiator. The landlord ignored our concerns.

Advice to the owners

Treat your tenants and building with even a morsel of respect.
