Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent reviews of buildings managed by Marc Altschul suggest a mixed experience for tenants. While several appreciate the central locations, spacious layouts, and good water pressure, concerns about cleanliness and pest control arise frequently. Management responsiveness appears to be inconsistent, resulting in frustrations regarding maintenance. Tenants report ongoing issues with pests and overall building upkeep, particularly in common areas. The presence of rent stabilization is a draw, but some note that it may lead to lower management investment in property maintenance. Overall, prospective renters should weigh the appealing locations and lower rents against potential management challenges.

Decent building for the price

Pros

Centrally located and spacious apartments

Cons

Old building, heat can sometimes be erratic

Former tenant·Over 1 year ago

Nice location, dirty common areas

Pros

Nice location, good layout.

Cons

Mice issues. Pest control is impossible to schedule. Common areas are dirty because they are rarely swept and mopped

Advice to the owners

Increase cleaning and pest control. These things shouldn’t fall on the tenants
