Overpriced and Underwhelming

Pros

It is very centrally located and has a lot of great bars and restaurants close by.

Cons

Our unit did not have heat for an entire winter, the landlord gave us a space heater and said he would "pay us back for the cost" on our utility bill. The building had bedbugs at one point which was not properly disclosed to us before moving in the apartment (we found out because of another tenant). Additionally, our first week living in the apartment, the key got stuck in the front door (which was an old lock and key), so we were locked out of the apartment for hours. The landlord refused to respond to us, so we were forced to call the locksmith who said the only option was to replace the lock and key for $700. The landlord refused to reimburse us for this expense, even though this was clearly the case of an old and faulty door. Overall, the landlord was totally unresponsive and unwilling to help fix the numerous issues that we had, which is why we decided to move.

Advice to the owners

Do better

Great location !

Pros

Very quiet Perfect location Fair priced

Cons

Very dirty common area; either neighbors did not do a good job keeping up after themselves or the building management doesn't have a sufficient cleaning schedule (I think mostly the latter) My room which was advertised as a bedroom did not have heat at all (used a space heater, which was fine)

Advice to the owners

More cleaning!
