Former tenant·just now

A decent building in a lovely community

Pros

The location is fabulous. Isham and Inwood Hill parks literally down the road. Coffee, groceries, and good restaurants are maybe a 3 minutes walk. So is the 207 A station! But the street still feels residential and (for Manhattan) peaceful. The building itself is no frills, but solid. Thick walls mean I don't usually hear my neighbors--most of whom are pretty quiet. My one bedroom is a steal in this day and age, which is what's keeping me here.

Cons

The biggest problem is just upkeep. Appliances are not new. Fixtures were slapped in and will be used until they disintegrate. I've needed several repairs in my year here for things that were literally just falling apart, and those repairs are not done well. Pests have generally been minimal, but I've had to seal holes to prevent them coming in from outside myself.

Advice to the owners

Invest in upkeep! The building could be in so much better shape.
