Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant feedback for buildings managed by WAKEFIELD TOWERS INC reveals a stark contrast in experiences based on location. While some properties, like the one on 144 West 16 Street, show potential with charming prewar features and decent amenities, management is frequently criticized for slow responsiveness and occasional pest issues. Conversely, reviews for 535 East 87 Street highlight severe neglect, including unresolved rodent infestations, poor maintenance, and alleged tenant harassment. Garbage management, cleanliness, and safety concerns are consistently reported as inadequate in some buildings. Overall, renters should expect variable management quality, with significant concerns about tenant relations and building upkeep in certain properties.

Harassers through and through

Pros

Rent is low but they'll start harassing you to move out to raise it on your second year there.

Cons

These are unwell people who only care about money and will try to force you out as soon as your second year to flip the apartment and raise the rent. They will make you feel unsafe in your own home, especially with the rodent infestations (see photo of the thousands of dollars in food I had to throw away because of INFESTED building which has NEVER been resolved.) They got a class C infestation they STILL refuse to fix for the cockroach infestation in this building. Also, there are currently NAILS sticking out of the STAIRCASE I keep almost tripping on. Gas smells, no responses to emails, harassment, and using my mentioning harassment to stop responding to all emails. These are criminals!!!!

Neglect and Stonewalling

Pros

No pros about this place

Cons

Complaints go unanswered, bugs, mice, no heat, windows not operating properly, no fire exit, dirty dirty dirty, staircase has lose steps, paint falling off the walls in the hallway, loud neighbors, dogs barking at all hours, landlord/management tries to intimidate tenants. With other words - stay away from this landlord and building
