Location location location!
Pros
This building is in the center of everything and close to all train lines and the LIRR. The building is small, well maintained and everyone who lives here is respectful and kind.
Cons
The landlord did raise my rent $400 which was a pretty big boost but to be fair, the place was pretty far under market when we moved in. We also do not have a working door buzzer but I don't know many buildings that have working buzzers! UPDATE! The landlord raised my rent again and this time by $500. I tried to contest this raise but the landlord did not respond iin a timely fashion so I needed to move. The buzzer was never fixed, the halls were getting dirtier and dirtier and I never had a smoke detector even though I asked for it several times. Now the landlord is saying there is damage in the apartment (there is nothing more than wear and tear in the form of chipped paint on the doors) and is holding my deposit.
Advice to the owners
Maybe clean the common areas a bit more regularly and fix the door buzzer if possible!
