Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent reviews of buildings managed by Issac Katz reveal a mixed picture. Tenants praise the overall cleanliness, well-maintained spaces, and friendly neighbors, with some buildings noted for being pet-friendly and spacious. However, management responsiveness is often a point of contention, with reports of delayed repairs and uncooperative superintendents. Some residents cite issues with transparency and maintenance of shared facilities like laundry rooms. Pest control is generally effective except for some basement fly infestations during warmer months. While the community atmosphere is strong, renters advise management to improve communication, maintenance reliability, and oversight to enhance tenant satisfaction.

Fantastic Building (If you can get in)

Pros

Super clean, well maintained building with essentially ZERO pests (Saw one cockroach in two years that made it's way in from outside) friendly neighbors, pet friendly building, spacious units, high ceilings.

Cons

Co-op building with only a few rental units. Either buy in, or deal with private landlords.

Cozy and safe but poorly managed

Pros

Neighbors are quiet and most keep to themselves. The location is nice, right near the park and local stores. Apartments are decent and comfortable Laundry in basement Allows all kinds of pets

Cons

Super is rude when confronted and ignores you when you need help if it’s not convenient for him (even though it’s literally his job to repair.) The super would try and get us to pay him for repairs that management covered to pocket the money when we were new the the building. Luckily someone warned us about this prior. Management doesn’t like to pay for repairs they should cover unless pestered. The laundry room needs A LOT of work. Machines break down often, are dirty most of the time. Basement stair case and some of the basement has fly infestation when the weather gets warm. You are not guaranteed storage
