STAY FAR AWAY

Pros

location is great

Cons

landlord is horrible, we had roaches in the unit and he did nothing to help us, regularly didnt have working heat, toilet or hot water.

Former tenant·Over 1 year ago

Don’t do it.

Pros

Good location. The price might seem good.

Cons

Honestly, the whole thing was a farce. The owner, Joe Catalano, failed to adequately fix the heating for two years. Another apartment in the building went without heating for three years: Joe Catalano said he would cover the cost of buying electric heaters, which he did not. A previous tenant had to take Joe Catalano to court to get their deposit back. When we had a mouse infestation Joe Catalano brought round glue traps, but would not remove the traps once they had captured mice. Outside overflowing trash meant that rats were a constant presence.

Advice to the owners

Hire someone who knows how to manage the building without giving themselves an electric shock when they attempt to repair things.
