Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Buildings managed by Jacob Stuhl are located in convenient neighborhoods with access to local amenities and transit. Tenants appreciate the responsive management and timely issue resolution. However, the buildings often suffer from aging infrastructure, inadequate insulation leading to noise and cold interiors, and some security concerns like faulty doorbells and unsecured entrances. Cleanliness and garbage management are generally satisfactory, but common areas sometimes have unpleasant odors. Tenants recommend significant renovations and updates between occupancies to improve living conditions. Overall, management is moderately responsive, but renters should expect to encounter some maintenance and comfort challenges.

Cool neighborhood, crappy building

Pros

The location is great - near lots of coffee shops, restaurants and the L train is only 5 mins away. Several laundromats and grocery stores nearby.

Cons

This is an old building with several issues: 1. The doorbells don’t work properly. You can hear/talk to a person but you can’t buzz them in. 2. The mantrap isn’t very secure. It has been accidentally left open and one time the latch had been tampered with. 3. It’s POORLY insulated! You can hear your neighbors’ conversations, the thuds of people walking up the stairs, etc.

Advice to the owners

Make some more updates if you’re going to charge the rent that you do.

Cons

Radiators could get a bit noisy
