An experience that got worse over time
Pros
The units are reasonably priced for being in Chelsea. It’s near the 1 train and also an NYPD station.
Cons
The landlord is an old lady that lives right behind the building - with old age comes unpredictable temper. She will be harsh on and argue with young renters and constantly threaten to kick them out at every minor inconvenience to her. The building has very little security measures put in place, and during the winter will attract homeless men to sleep in the entryway inside the building entrance. Oftentimes troublemakers will also block the doorsteps while sitting there to smoke weed. Cockroaches are not uncommon, and poor ventilation will inevitably causes mold and water damage. Heating did not work for a good month into the cold season.
Advice to the owners
Invest in better security.
