No Cooking Gas for 5 Months

Pros

Cons

No Apartments in the building have had gas for 5 months. Landlord does not communicate or respond to texts and calls and has not reduced rent. She has made no effort to get gas back on (no fillings on Department of Buildings). She harasses tenants who call 311 to report the issue. Meanwhile, the restaurants downstairs in the building have gas and are enabling her inaction by lying to 311 and HPD. DO NOT LIVE HERE. She continues to list available units on Street Easy even with no gas and changes the Apartment numbers on listings to hide how long its been on the market.

Advice to the owners

I hope you like all the money you'll be spending in legal fees and fines especially after people continue to move out and you can't rent units out with no gas.

Old, well-maintained, family-owned building

Pros

Great location (~4 minutes from the Q stop), good trash management, reasonably priced; never had any major issues. Very few packages were stolen

Cons

As other reviewers have stated, gets a little cold in the winter (nothing that can't be fixed with a space heater), the second bedroom in our 2-bed was quite small, and sending in paper checks sometimes went awry, but mostly this is a great building!
