Worst renter experience yet

Pros

The fact the building is rent controlled

Cons

Brokers fee, pests living in walls with 0 extermination in over 6 months, we were promised cabinets to be fixed before we move in, halfway into the lease and they didn’t get fixed. We haven’t had properly working heat since October, it is now January and we still don’t have any heat in our unit, with no way to contact the building owners. Unstable living conditions. Wouldn’t recommend anyone to stay here. We’re doing them a favor, not the other way around.

Advice to the owners

Actually check on units instead of brushing problems & concerns off

This place is a joke

Pros

It’s a beautiful apartment— once inside.

Cons

It is Roach infested. Rat infested. There is a 93 year old woman who lives alone. She is a hoarder. She feels independent but in reality she needs a lot of help. She creates a very unclean environment. There is often used tissue with shit on it in the stairway. She tried to empty her own trash which leaves garbage on the stairs. Morning, noon and night she is burning food. You can smell it and you will have smoke in your apartment. I’ve called the fire department many times because I was scared she would burn the building down. My last day there, she had all four eyes on with empty pots. She also had the stove on. Management doesn’t keep the building clean nor do not upkeep the garbage. Because of this rats run in and out of the garbage and building. Back to the neighbor: she hoards so bad that the rats enter the building and live with her. The place is so infested with roaches that they crawl on you in your sleep. They are in your food. In the living room. In the bathroom. I couldn’t wait to get out of there. The neighbors who lives underneath me had a horrible bedbug infestation. They moved and left all the furniture. They also had a rats in and out of their apartment. You can make a million complaints and the issues remain— especially because they don’t enforce extermination for every apartment. It’s is just an option.

Advice to the owners

Before you decide to charge all of this money for the apartments in the building, you should invest in real renovations. There is no reason that there are rats and roaches in this building. Also hire real cleaners. When someone makes a complaint you should take it serious
