Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant feedback for buildings managed by Michael Young reveals persistent management and maintenance challenges. Residents frequently mention poor responsiveness to repair requests and ineffective pest control, with recurring issues like cockroaches, mice, and bed bugs. Cleanliness and garbage management are often rated poorly, contributing to unsatisfactory living conditions, including trash accumulation in common areas. Heating systems and water pressure show mixed performance, with some complaints about inadequate heating and leaks. Despite these drawbacks, tenants appreciate the location and some community aspects like friendly neighbors and rooftop access. Improvement in timely maintenance, communication, and building upkeep would significantly enhance tenant satisfaction.

Poor management avoid at all costs

Pros

Location, price, and rooftop access.

Cons

Poor management. Lease agreement never sent timely, cockroaches, mice, trash being left in the lobby, bathroom ceiling fell in on itself.

From Beautiful to Horrific

Pros

When I first moved into this building in 1956, it was clean with brass mailboxes so shiny you could see your face in them and beautiful murals in the hallway on the first floor.

Cons

When the building was sold to Elizabeth Weiss, it became a slum dwelling with poor heating, dirty hallways and those polished mailboxes became rusty.

Advice to the owners

I moved out in 1969. Building was sold, renovated & now permanently closed. Wonder why?
