Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant feedback for buildings managed by Eyal Ovadia reveals inconsistent management quality. While some buildings offer responsive management and fairly priced units with decent upkeep, others suffer from severe neglect including pest infestations, water damage, poor heating, and safety hazards like structural issues. Cleanliness and garbage management ratings vary widely, with some complaints about unclean conditions and inadequate facility maintenance. Tenant communications and issue resolution responsiveness have been reported as slow or dismissive in several reviews, impacting the overall living experience. Prospective renters should expect a mix of situations, with management often needing to improve maintenance, safety, and tenant relations.

The Most Incompetent, Negligent, and Disgusting Landlords I Have Ever Encountere

Pros

genuinely, absolutely nothing.

Cons

If I could give this place negative stars, I would. Living in this building was an absolute nightmare from day one. Within the first two weeks of moving in, the building manager informed me—completely unprompted—that he would no longer communicate with me by text or phone. Why? Because I dared to ask completely reasonable questions about things like lightbulb fixtures. Imagine being a tenant where asking for basic help is treated like a crime. That was the beginning of four years of hell under their mismanagement. Here’s a rundown of their greatest hits in negligence: • A sinking backyard — Yes, the ground in the backyard I was paying extra for was caving in like a manhole. Not only did they ignore this obvious safety hazard, but I couldn’t even use the space because of the next point… • A ferocious rat infestation — I’m talking rats running rampant to the point that my backyard garden was completely unusable. I told management countless times, and they did not care. The absolute cherry on top? One day, the Super came to “inspect” the backyard, and there was a dead rat that had been eaten by other rats. Naturally, I made him clean it up. I told him we were out of paper towels (we were not) and made him pick up a rotting rat carcass with his bare hands. That’s exactly what he deserved. • Bathtub not draining — Another recurring issue. I submitted many service requests for this and other problems, but they were all ignored. • Package theft — Packages disappeared on a regular basis. Security? Accountability? Forget it. • Severe water damage everywhere — Walls, ceilings — you name it. Stains, peeling paint, and mold creeping through. They never so much as attempted to address it. • Warped floorboards from unbearable humidity during the summer. Their solution? “Run three industrial-strength dehumidifiers 24/7.” And they, of course, refused to pay for the obscene electricity bills this caused. This management company is an absolute disgrace. They treat tenants like garbage and ignore even the most dangerous and unsanitary problems. I placed countless service requests over the years—documented ones—and not a single issue was ever properly fixed. These people are not landlords. They’re slumlords, plain and simple. Their level of incompetence, laziness, and disregard for tenants’ well-being is staggering. If you are considering renting from them, run far and fast. Do not waste your time, money, or sanity dealing with these people. They are the poster children for everything wrong with property management: lazy, negligent, and indifferent to human decency. They should be ashamed, but I guarantee you they’re too soulless to feel it.

Apt 1 rented by Muse Spa

Pros

Relatively nice safe neighborhood. Close to C Ralph. There is lock to the bedroom but Muse lady has access to your room.

Cons

Bugs everywhere, front entrance, back yard, inside of apt 1- 1st floor. Rented under Muse NYC Realty. Your rent is higher than other mates who live there already. They don’t clean. Each one clean once in 5 months after I complained. One has massive odor. You can smell while he is in the living room and your bedroom door is shut. He would complain about your utensils in shared drawer in the kitchen. Your stuff on countertop. From backyard area, you can hear a dog crying/ whining everyday- helpless you can’t see where the dog is. You don’t mind pay more, you don’t mind body odor, you don’t mind roaches and flies… it would be right fit for you.

Advice to the owners

Stop her subleasing the room and letting her make profit.
