Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenant reviews of buildings managed by Moshe Deutsch reflect significant concerns regarding management quality. Many residents reported inadequate responsiveness from ownership, particularly during issues related to noise, cleanliness, and maintenance. The lack of proper garbage management and consistent pest issues were frequently highlighted as ongoing problems. While some tenants appreciated the amenities and favorable heat control, the overall environment suffered due to inconsiderate neighbors, leading to loud and disruptive living conditions. Renters advise potential tenants to document the condition of units meticulously upon moving in and suggest that management invest in better oversight to improve tenant relations and living standards.

YHT Management-Very disappointing management experience. Please don’t rent with YHT!

Pros

The apartment itself was generally fine, and the location was convenient. I lived in the building for two years.

Cons

If you have other options, I strongly recommend renting somewhere else. Our experience with the security deposit was extremely concerning. Management initially charged us for alleged damage to the floor that we did not cause. It was only after we provided photographic evidence that this charge was reversed. They still withheld $1,300, largely for minor filled-in areas on the walls that essentially required painting. We repeatedly asked for receipts and documentation supporting the deductions and the amounts being charged. The entire process lacked transparency and left us feeling that charges were being assessed first and questioned only when we challenged them and provided our own evidence. If you absolutely have to rent here, protect yourself from day one: photograph and video every inch of the apartment when you move in, including floors and walls; keep those files until after your deposit is returned; document the apartment again when you move out; save every email and text

Advice to the owners

Management needs to seriously reconsider how it handles tenants and security deposits. Tenants should not have to produce their own photographic evidence to get an incorrect damage charge removed, nor should they have to repeatedly demand documentation explaining substantial deductions. If you are going to take money from someone’s security deposit, every charge should be legitimate, reasonable, clearly explained, and supported by appropriate documentation from the beginning—not corrected only after the tenant challenges it. A security deposit is a tenant’s money, not an opportunity to impose questionable or excessive move-out charges. Treat tenants fairly, document deductions properly, and hold management to the same standard of accountability that you expect from residents.

Horrible don’t move here

Pros

There’s no pros to the building

Cons

Don’t rent here. Tenants are loud, inconsiderate and building management doesn’t do anything about it. Also people leave dog feces on the floor in elevator and hallways

Advice to the owners

Do something about terrible tenants
