Do not live in 570 Ocean Ave Apt 1G

Pros

Close to train, convenient location, great neighbors who have lived in the building for a long time

Cons

I dealt with a leaking ceiling and mold for MONTHS while the owner was completely unresponsive. Mushrooms grew out of my walls, water leaked through electrical sockets, my apartment flooded with two inches of water, etc. Eventually the ceiling collapsed (thankfully while I wasn't home) and although it was repaired the source of the leaking was never addressed. I had a professional come test for mold and the results came back very high.

Advice to the owners

Treat your tenants like humans.

Missing In Action Landlord

Pros

Neighbors are very friendly

Cons

My unit became infested with mice shortly after renewing my lease. The landlord was nearly impossible to get ahold of and the super was not helpful. It took months of back and forth and whitholding rent to finally get their attention. I ultimately had to break my lease because they still wouldn't address the issue properly. I also suspect they were overcharging for rent stabilized units, so look out for that.
